Step-father steals money from 13-year-old's piggy bank, kid gets even by "borrowing" $200: 'I hid it in my sock drawer'

It can't be easy as a teenager to have a step-parent come into your life as a new authority figure, as if all of a sudden, you are now expected to listen to someone you have just met. Now, you would think that as new step-parents come into the picture, the adults in the family would carefully consider the various acceptable ways in which they can navigate this transition.

Unfortunately, there is a reason why the caricature of the evil step-parent exists… because stories like these happen. Here, we have a step-dad who for whatever reason felt compelled to steal money from his teenage step-kid's piggy bank…

  • This step-dad should have been trying hard to gain the trust of his then 13-year-old step-son, but instead, he did the exact opposite. It was as if he were following a rule book of what not to do because taking money from your step-kid's small piggy bank is not exactly family-friendly behavior.

  • Thankfully, this kid was not going to let his step-father get away with this, even if his mother proved to be utterly unhelpful in the fallout. He decided to take out over three times the equivalent in cash out of the step-dad's wallet, and honestly, power to him for doing so! This is a fully grown individual who stole $60 from the kid he should have been trying to impress! For that kind of bizarre behavior, he deserves to lose way more than $200.
